I'm reading something a bit like the Tunde Adeniran memoirs - it's titled One Day And A Story: Reminiscences Of An African Journalist, by Dare Babarinsa. Delicious little thing, at about 250 pages compared the the two Volumes of 'Serving My Fatherland.'

This education in Nigeria's political history, bureaucracy and administration, is so important. I wish more of us would study up a bit. Soyinka wrote You Must Set Forth At Dawn which is in a similar vein. I could make you a reading list. I could make us a book club or a graduate program. Well, everything good will come - for instance, Oby Ezekwesili in dropping out of the race to be president of Nigeria pledged to do ONE THING - a specialized uni, institution, for leadership/government. So I believe her.
