Question: Where do you see yourself 500 years from now?

 Or 5000?

Uh oh - the video is so soon gone!

I found another one and posted it beneath the expired video.
It's a similar video with a few seconds tacked on at the beginning featuring the wide aerial shot, then a few seconds at the end featuring the self-congratulatory clapping. I suspect it's a standard, repeated, performance at a tourist site and that this is a different recording on a different day.

It's the same location, similar costume, similar music, and similar choreography, but I think it may be a different video featuring different dancers and possibly different persons in the orchestra, and definitely different camera work - sharper image but otherwise in almost every way less subtle and less admirable than the earlier video. The earlier video was more beige and was more still - zoomed out and mostly stayed zoomed out throughout.

Even the music rather offends, it clangs more in this video with a harsh metallic twang that I don't remember from the earlier video; and the musicians sometimes distract by moving unnecessarily in the early parts of the video, joking around. Is this where I see myself 500 years from now? Recognizing things as the same and yet different - familiar and yet not comforting - and altogether too loud or harsh - ohhh I hope not.

I would not have chosen this video had it been the one I initially saw, because it's not subtle enough to convey the theme of ... the title and wording of this blog post.

Sorry about that. I'll stay on the lookout for the right illustration.
